AT Australia Training is Closing
We are sad to announce that all registrations to our Training cources are closed.
Due to the lack of Federal and NSW State government funding support, we have fallen through the gap. AT-Aust will be closing its doors on April 14th 2023.
Should a miracle happen that we receive funding for our core business of information provisions, we will resume our Training service. We'll publish the Happy news here.
We understand this may be inconvenient for you all, but it is now unavoidable.
Not only will you lose your Home Mods and impartial AT training provider, you and your clients will lose a valuable AT information service.

Our Courses
Nationally Accredited Training in Assistive Technology
These nationally recognised individual unit or group of units, will allow you to extend your Assistive Technology (AT) knowledge and skills. We now offer these units online and provide the same great quality training and outcomes as we do in our face-to-face sessions.
Home Modifications Course CPPACC4020 and CPPACC5016
CPPACC4020 and CPPACC5016 are Accredited units. The course aims to expand the knowledge of Allied Health professionals, builders, building consultants/designers to have requisite skills and knowledge to create/modify existing private dwellings to suit the specific needs of the client, and where appropriate, family and/or carers. We now offer this course online and provide the same great quality training and outcomes as we do in our face-to-face sessions.
10909NAT Cert IV in Assistive Technology Mentoring
This course provides the knowledge and skills to perform as an Assistive Technology (AT) Mentor. AT Mentors assist and support people with disabilities and/or carers to make informed choices about their assistive technology and home modification needs. We now offer this course online and provide the same great quality training and outcomes as we do in our face-to-face sessions.
Seamless Living - Home Automation
With so many different ‘smart’ products on the market, how do you know which one to choose ? Discover the features of the various products and find out how to apply them to clients. Get a grip of the latest technology in a hands on environment.
Accessible Building and Environments
This training program will provide you with the skills and knowledge to confidently design and build for the older generation and people with a disability. Be one of the first to gain this nationally recognised qualification.
AT for Falls Prevention
This course looks at the evidence behind the occurrence of falls with an aim to explore a range of Assistive Technology options to assist with optimising client and environmental safety.
AT for Memory Loss
In early stages of dementia there are many strategies and assistive technology that enables a person to remain independent.
AT for Tremors
Assistive Technology for Tremors is a new course offered by AT Australia. Designed for people with tremors, carers, and professionals, this hands-on and interactive course will allow participants to explore and trial different equipment or strategies.
Easing the Pressure - Cushions and Mattresses
With so many different pressure-relieving products on the market, how do you know which one to choose and when to apply it? Discover the features and properties of the various products and find out how to apply them to clients at risk of developing pressure sores.
Getting a Grip on Grabrails
Discover the different features, uses and applications of rails and the implications of the various attachment surfaces. An overview of relevant regulations and anthropometrics is also covered in this half day session. Rails from various suppliers will be available for trial.
Introduction to MAT Evaluation
MAT is an assessment tool essential for ensuring appropriate postural outcomes in relation to Seating and wheelchair prescription. Understanding the postural tendencies, postural capacity and required postural supports are the foundations for any wheelchair and seating assessment.
Manual Handling for Care Workers
This course covers how to efficiently and safely transport a client using correct manual handling techniques - with and without assistive technology. Participants gain an understanding of current WH&S legislation related to manual handling and injury prevention.
Manual Wheelchair Prescription
Getting the right fit between the client and the manual wheelchair is an essential part of the prescription process. This two-day course covers clinical aspects of manual wheelchair prescription, and provides hands-on investigation of manual wheelchair features.
Powered Mobility
This course looks at the different powered mobility bases on the market from entry level basic through to switch controlled rehab models and aims to empower the therapist to identify the advantages and disadvantages of powered mobility.
Power Assist
Power Assist options are becoming popular as primary mobility devices or as occasional assistance. This course covers what types are available and what factors need to be considered.
